Goal

Throw away the two work-in-progress commits.

git reset <commit> moves the branch you're on to a different commit. Everything after it drops out of the branch's history.

The flag decides what happens to your files. --soft keeps the undone changes staged. --mixed, the default, keeps them in the working directory but unstaged. --hard discards them entirely.

Reset rewrites history, so use it on commits that only exist on your machine. If you've already pushed them, others may have built on them — the next lesson's revert is the tool for that.

Those import commits were a dead end. Reset main to before them.
